On 17 and 18 June, the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) welcomed members of UNITA’s Work Package 5 (WP5) for two days of collaborative work focused on communication, sustainability, impact assessment and international outreach.
Representatives from partner universities across the Alliance gathered in Pau to review ongoing activities, share good practices and prepare the next steps of WP5. Discussions covered key areas such as external dissemination and public engagement, financial and green sustainability, the UNITA Impact Observatory, and the expansion of UNITA’s network in Europe and beyond.
Throughout the meeting, members of the different Task Teams worked together to assess progress achieved over recent months and define priorities for the upcoming period. Participants also took part in thematic activities, including a workshop on digital accessibility and a visit highlighting UPPA’s initiatives in sustainable development and social responsibility.
A highlight of the programme was the conference on inter-alliance cooperation, organised in collaboration with the Université du Québec. Following the partnership agreement signed between UNITA and the Université du Québec in April 2026, the session provided an opportunity to explore new avenues for international cooperation and exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing higher education alliances worldwide.

The meeting concluded with a closing plenary session, during which Task Team leaders shared the main outcomes of their discussions and presented the next milestones for WP5. Beyond the working sessions, the event strengthened connections between partners and reinforced the collective commitment to building a more sustainable, impactful and internationally connected European University.
