The UNITA alliance is proud to announce the winners of its photo contest dedicated to the theme of “European Identity and Citizenship.” The objective of the contest was to visually capture the spirit of the European project, a project built on cooperation, shared values, and an evolving sense of community across borders.
Students and staff from UNITA universities sent in creative and powerful photos showing what it means to be a European citizen today. Their pictures explored important themes like mobility, cultural diversity, solidarity, and civic engagement key values of UNITA.
One winner was selected from each participating university, making a total of eight winners. These images highlight both the meaning of European citizenship and the changes shaping the lives of people across Europe today.

The winners are: Ayesha Imtiaz, from Università degli studi di Brescia (UNIBS), with “Datteri ad alta quota, Guarda (Dates at High Altitude, Guarda)”; Carlos López, from Universidad de Zaragoza (UNIZAR), with “Europeísmo en la calle (Europeanism on the Streets)”; Alexandrina Crina, from Universitatea Transilvania din Brasov (UNITBV), with “Diversitate Culoare Și Voie Bună la Carnavalul Din Cetatea Sighișoara (Diversity, Colour and Good Cheer at the Carnival in Sighișoara Citadel)”; Nadia Topai, from Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara (UVT), with “Prima identitate (First Identity)”; Wiliam Júnior, from Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), with “Entre Raízes e Horizontes (Between Roots and Horizons)”; Diana Dias, from Politecnico da Guarda (IPG), with “O Ecrã da nossa Memória (The Screen of Our Memory)”; Gipsy Peltier, from Université de PAU (UPPA), with “Biodiversité des Sols de Montagne (Biodiversity of Mountain Soils)”; and Caleb Evrard Sètondji Dedo, from Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), with “Evrard Diversité Estudiantine Jeune Engagés (Evrard: Student Diversity and Engaged Young People)”.
