UNCUYO’s mission is to transform society through public, free, and secular education, considered a human right, a public good, and a duty of the State, generating a positive impact on the territory.
The university promotes research, technology transfer, and community engagement, contributing to the sustainable development of the region and the country. Within the framework of local, national, Latin American, Caribbean, and international integration, UNCUYO is committed to building citizenship and providing comprehensive education to artists, teachers, scientists, professionals, technologists, and technicians for a just society.
The university produces, develops, transfers, and exchanges knowledge, practices, and technologies in response to societal needs and in alignment with public policies and scientific progress. Its policies are based on principles of quality and relevance, strengthening social inclusion, equal opportunities, integration in diversity, and respect for cultural identities, while fully upholding democratic values. UNCUYO actively participates in international university networks and numerous cooperation projects with universities and specialized institutions worldwide. These initiatives promote knowledge transfer, institutional strengthening, and the improvement of academic, scientific, and outreach programs. Most of these projects are funded or co-funded by international organizations.
The Universidad Nacional de Cuyo is part of the Geminae network of the UNITA Alliance, a program designed to strengthen international academic cooperation across all continents through the exchange of best practices in teaching, research, mobility, and governance, contributing to the development
