Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP)

Founded in 1957 and officially inaugurated in 1959, the Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD) is one of Africa’s most prestigious and influential higher education institutions. Renamed in 1987 in honour of the renowned Senegalese scholar, philosopher, and anthropologist Cheikh Anta Diop, UCAD has played a central role in the academic, scientific, and social development of Senegal and the wider African continent for decades.

The University of Turin welcomed students from across the UNITA Alliance for the Blended Intensive Programme “Biodiversity in Mountain Ecosystems”, combining international collaboration, fieldwork in the Italian Alps, and laboratory research. The programme offered participants hands-on experience in ecological monitoring while strengthening their understanding of environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation.

IEEE DEMOcon 2026: UNITA highlights innovation in digital education and micro-credentials

Professor Marina Marchisio Conte represented UNITA at IEEE DEMOcon 2026 – Digital Education and MOOCs Conference, presenting the Alliance’s achievements in digital education, the Digital Campus, and micro-credentials. The conference also featured contributions from several European University Alliances, highlighting the growing importance of inter-alliance cooperation in shaping the future of higher education.

More than 70 researchers and academics from the University of Turin gathered on 16 June for the event “UniTo Research Community in UNITA: Outcomes and Impact of the Starting Grants”. The initiative showcased the results of the Starting grants involving UniTo faculties and researchers and highlighted the role of the alliance in fostering international collaboration, building research networks, and creating a vibrant scientific community across Europe.
