Call UNITA Shared Research Infrastructure Grants

UNITA CALLS

The UNITA Alliance is pleased to announce a call for grants to support the use of shared research infrastructures and resources among its member institutions. This initiative aims to foster collaboration, enhance research capabilities, and promote scientific training within the alliance. This call aims to: Enhance technical and scientific training on specific research resources. Enable community building and academic staff work on multi-partners projects Address gaps in infrastructure Make proposals for long term solutions Co-fund the access to infrastructures and resources hosted by other UNITA institutions Eligibility criteria Applicants must be academic staff belonging to one of the UNITA institutions during the planned activities. Priority will be given to early-stage researchers. To apply for funding, the project must meet the following criteria: Involve two or more UNITA partners Align with one or more of the research hubs Include funding for equipment usage or technical training. Calendar   Two application periods are scheduled. These calls for projects will operate on a rolling basis throughout the designated period. First period: Opening on June 2025 and closing on May 2026; Second period: opening on June 2026 and closing on May 2027. Applications will be evaluated on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, and applicants will receive a response (positive or negative) shortly thereafter.If the 60% threshold (i.e. the maximum budget allocated for the first call period) is reached before May 2026, the second call period may be launched earlier. Open From 20 June to 24 August 2025 The UNITA call for Starting Grants on research is open for the topics “Global health” and “Inclusive societies”. Reasearch groups composed by at least 3 UNITA Universities can submit their projects until August 24th 2025. The UNITA Alliance issued the Call for Starting Grants on Research to strengthen collaboration between UNITA partners through the implementation of new projects or the consolidation of existing projects. The application deadline is August 24th 2025. Proposals are accepted in all possible variants and declinations of one of the following subjects: Call Global health: Cellular and Molecular Human and Veterinary Medicine Mental and physical health, well-being, and prevention medicine in humans and animals Call Inclusive societies: Social inclusion and equal opportunities in a multicultural setting Pathways to inclusive societies: Exploring the role of Democracy, Institutions, Politics, Citizenship, and Information ——————————————– 1. students 2. My Three-Minute PhD Thesis": An Exciting Challenge for UNITA PhD Students!

UNITA-Universitas Montium is launching its annual “My Three-Minute PhD Thesis” competition,offering a unique opportunity for PhD students from participating universities to present theirresearch in a concise, captivating, and accessible way. The Goal of the Competition To transform complex theses into a 3-minute presentation aimed at anon-specialized audience. Participants will develop essential science communication skills whilesharing their work with society. Competition Structure Local Phase: Each UNITA university will organize its own selection before mid-April. Candidateswill benefit from online training to refine their presentations. Final Phase: Selected PhD students will gather for the final in-person competition on May 30,2025, at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) in Spain. Rules and Criteria An Event Not to Be Missed The final will be broadcast live on UNITA’s social media channels,allowing everyone to join this inspiring event. How to Participate? Interested PhD students must obtain approval from their thesis supervisor andensure that their content is suitable for public dissemination. Deadline for local phase registration: check with your university.
