<strong>development of sustainable energy mixes for rural and\/or mountainous areas<\/strong>, by harnessing the region&#8217;s renewable energy resources (solar energy, biomass, hydroelectricity, geothermal energy and wind power) and limiting environmental impacts (through the use of waste energy and life-cycle analysis).<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Issues relating to energy conversion, storage, transport, and management are addressed alongside those relating to economics, law, and the environmental and societal impacts of energy.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The areas of application cover housing, industry, and transportation, and concern rural, tourist, and industrial communities in mountainous
