It is one of the instruments through which the Alliance encourages academic and technical-administrative staff to become more familiar with the five Romance languages shared by its partner universities.<\/p><p data-start=\"690\" data-end=\"1206\">Designed for participants with a beginner level of Italian (A1\u2013A2), the BIP adopted a teaching methodology that builds on their prior knowledge of other Romance languages, using <strong>intercomprehension as a means of facilitating the learning of Italian<\/strong>. This provided participants with an immersive experience that brought together language learning and reflection on the value of European multilingualism.<\/p><p data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1956\">The programme also included social and cultural activities aimed at discovering the local area, which were considered an integral part of the learning experience. In particular, participants had the opportunity to explore Turin\u2019s historic centre during a guided tour organised by students from ESN Torino \u2013 <strong>Erasmus Student Network<\/strong>. The students accompanied the group around the city while also creating opportunities for intercultural exchange.<\/p><p data-start=\"1958\" data-end=\"2424\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Through initiatives such as this BIP, UNITA reaffirms its commitment to promoting <strong>multilingualism<\/strong> not only as a language skill, but also as <strong>a tool for inclusion, collaboration and the development of an increasingly integrated European academic community<\/strong>.
