Re-UNITA – Research for UNITA: 2021-2024
On September 2021, the six universities of UNITA Alliance – Phase 1 began a new project, called “Re-UNITA: Research for UNITA”, with a grant of 2 million € from the European Commission, in the framework of the H2020 programme, within the call “Science With and For Society” (SWAFS).
Re-UNITA was coordinated by the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) involving the whole UNITA consortium (UBI, UNITO, UNIZAR, USMB, UVT).
Highlighting the importance of UNITA and its potential in the field of research and innovation, the project aimed, during the 3 years, to create an enabling environment for the emergence of a shared research and innovation agenda within the UNITA alliance.
The main goals of the project were to identify the state of research in all its components within UNITA universities, and converge on common strategies, and also to promote the implantation of universities in territories with varied and rich economic partnerships, and an openness towards citizens and civil society.

The objectives of RE-UNITA project were:
- Common agenda & programmes on research
- Common strategy & programmes for human resources
- Shared research infrastructures across the Alliance
- Develop innovation skills and entrepreneurship
Re-UNITA ended in July 2024. The final conference of the project took place in Pau, on 2nd July 2024.
