Building bridges across alliances

The visit of Justina Čekanauskienė from University of Klaipeda (Lithuania, EU-CONEXUS Alliance) to the University of Turin provided a valuable opportunity to exchange practices on communication strategies within European University Alliances.
Discussions focused on coordination models, internal workflows, and collaboration across institutions.
The meeting highlighted the growing importance of inter-alliance cooperation in strengthening communication and impact at the European level.
Student Voices in action: UNITA at the heart of ESA 2026

UNITA participated in the European Student Assembly 2026, contributing to key debates on Europe’s future. A delegation of five students engaged in panel discussions, helping develop recommendations to be presented to the European Commission. The event also fostered collaboration among European University Alliances, strengthening dialogue and new synergies.
The Università di Brescia visits the Geminae Partner Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perù and the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería of Lima (UNI) to strengthen UNITA cooperation with extra-European universities

On 30 March, a delegation from the Università di Brescia — composed of the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation Policies, Prof. Roberto Ranzi, Prof. Maurizio Tira (DICATAM and EUA member), Prof. Barbara Scala (DICATAM) and Prof. Giovanna Grossi (DICATAM) — visited the Geminae UNITA partner Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perù.
WP4 Annual meeting
On 2 and 3 July, the Università di Brescia (UNIBS) will host the annual meeting of Work Package 4 (Knowledge-based Growth in Rural, Mountain and Cross-border Territories).
WP5 Annual meeting
On 17 and 18 June, the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) will host the annual meeting of Work Package 5 (Impact and Dissemination).
ICTU – Internationalization of Curricula through UNITA
On 28 and 29 April, the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) will host the ICTU event: Internationalization of Curricula through UNITA, which will bring together staff from the different UNITA universities to work on the development of joint degree programmes among the alliance’s institutions.
Matching Event “UNITO–SUISM Games & University Life”
Within the framework of UNITA Task Team 2.1, the University of Turin has promoted the UNITA Matching Event “UNITO–SUISM Games & University Life”, an international initiative aimed at fostering international exchange, psychophysical well-being, sport, student welfare, and interdisciplinary collaboration among partner universities. The event will take place from 26 to 29 May 2026, and two students from each university will participate.
Matching Event on Citizen Science
The University Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) will host the Matching Event on Citizen Science on 28 and 29 April, bringing together researchers from the alliance’s partner universities. The theme of this event is participatory science and research. Participatory science and research are forms of scientific knowledge production in which civil society actors actively and deliberately participate alongside researchers, either individually or collectively. Participatory science therefore involves citizens in the production of knowledge
UNITA Student Assembly Elections: Voting Now Open at the Universidad de Zaragoza

The Universidad de Zaragoza has officially opened the voting period to elect new representatives for the UNITA Student Assembly. This election aims to expand UNIZAR’s student delegation within the alliance, ensuring a stronger voice for students in European decision-making. The voting period runs from 14 April, until 16:00 (CET) on 16 April 2026.
