UNITA Call for Advanced Grants on Research

The UNITA call for Advanced Grants on research is open to all the HUB topics. Reasearch groups composed by at least three UNITA Universities can submit their projects until April 17th, 2026.

 The UNITA Alliance launched the Call for Advanced Grants on Research in order to strengthen collaboration between UNITA partners and consolidate the cooperation initiated within the Starting Grant projects. The objective is to support scientific partnerships of common interest with a structuring effect, i.e., directing or encouraging the development of larger-scale projects, with the aim of further developing and structuring cooperation, including exploring opportunities to apply for competitive international calls.
 



Calendar

  • The application deadline is April 17th 2026 at 12h00.
  • Results are expected by July 10th 2026
  • The starting date of the projects (start date for the eligibility of expenses) is July 13th 2026
  • The project termination & reporting are due by August 28th 2027.

Eligibility criteria

To apply for funding, the project must meet the following criteria:

  • Proposals must be linked to one or more projects developed in the framework of the Starting Grant initiative of the UNITA Alliance
  • Proposals must be submitted by any staff member from a UNITA institution. Applicants may serve as PI or Team leader, provided they can demonstrate the affiliation with the institution for the entire duration of the project. In addition, the project team must include staff or researchers from at least three different University partners of the UNITA Alliance.
  • UNITA Associated Partners and Geminae Partners are encouraged to participate in this call and join the project teams, without requesting funding.

4. Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the Principal Investigator and CV of each Team Leader who is part of the team. CV should not exceed 3 pages, including major research projects and 10 most relevant publications.
5. Letters of commitment from the stakeholders
6. The acknowledgment signed by all team leaders and PI, attesting their participation: template here
