What is it?

An Alliance between six Universities, from five countries, located in rural and cross-border mountain regions across southern, central and eastern Europe, and sharing Romance languages origins.

Goal

Build an inspiring European inter-university campus based both on excellence in learning and teaching and on research and innovation for and with the territories.

UNITA Geminae Programme Mobilities

Intensify cooperation with partner universities in the American, African and Asian continents, which also have Romance languages as official languages; Foster students mobility and cooperation in teaching, research or management and also share best practices, by organizing international conferences (physical and virtual).

UNITA Rural Mobility

Enroll in a short-term mobility to develop teaching activities at one of UNITA’s universities; Promote the exchange of experiences and teaching methods; Improve your personal and professional background.

Virtual Mobility

Attend distance learning courses offered by a partner university, in a synchronous or asynchronous mode.

UNITA Doctoral Cotutelle Mobilities

Develop a joint research program within UNITA;

Enjoy a period of study and research in a foreign environment;

Experience different research methods and contribute to the development of rural and cross-border mountain regions, as you progress with your investigation.

UNITA very short term mobilities for events' participation

Research & Innovation Hubs

UNITA can contribute to the development of rural and mountain areas through promoting the value of the natural resources for renewable energy, developing networks of circular economy (including bio-economy), linking different economic activities (agriculture, tourism, industry and crafts), promoting the richness of the cultural and linguistic heritage, and optimizing the relationship among the different actors of each ecosystem.

T&L Centers

To promote knowledge, growth and pedagogical approaches, best practices are identified through the exchange of information, methods, and techniques between different Universities. Teaching & Learning Centers (T&L Centers) provide lecturers and teachers with the tools and training to strengthen the student-centered approach.

L'Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) est une université publique pluridisciplinaire et multisite située dans le sud-ouest de la France. Fondée en 1972, l’UPPA bénéficie d'un environnement de travail exceptionnel sur 5 campus à taille humaine : Pau, Bayonne, Anglet, Mont-de-Marsan et Tarbes.

L'UPPA prépare plus de 13 500 étudiants à l’obtention d’une centaine de diplômes de Bac+1 à Bac+8, en droit, économie, gestion, lettres, langues, sciences humaines, sport, sciences et technologies. La carte d'étudiant (IZLY) donne accès à tous les restaurants universitaires (RU) et sert de moyen de paiement que vous pouvez recharger par carte bancaire ou par virement à travers une application mobile ou le site web IZLY.

L'International Welcome Desk est un Centre de Services de l'association Euraxess France.

Pour solliciter un soutien d’ordre pratique et des renseignements concernant les démarches administratives pour votre séjour à l'UPPA, merci de vous inscrire sur le portail Euraxess, ici.

Les doctorants contractuels, post-doctorants, chercheurs et enseignant-chercheurs (salariés de l'UPPA) qui ont besoin d'une convention d'accueil pour chercheur étranger (hors UE) sont priés de contacter leur DRH.

Les chercheurs étrangers non salariés de l'UPPA, venant à notre établissement pour un séjour de recherche avec un financement autre que l'UPPA (financement CIFRE, salariés d'un établissement à l'étranger, etc.) peuvent contacter l'International Welcome Desk pour demander les conditions pour l'éventuelle mise en place d'une convention d'accueil.

The Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) is a multidisciplinary and multisite public university located in southwestern France. Founded in 1972, UPPA benefits from an exceptional working environment on 5 campus à taille humaine : Pau, Bayonne, Anglet, Mont-de-Marsan et Tarbes.

Residences

Securing housing should be one of your top priorities as soon as you are admitted to the UPPA. Proof of housing is generally required as part of your visa request.

Canteens

The student card (IZLY) gives you access to all the university restaurants (RU) and may be used as a payment method which you can recharge using a bank card or wire transfer via the IZLY mobile application or the IZLY website.

University restaurants offer full and balanced meals for 3.25 €.

Be a Student

Future and current PhD students and researchers:

The International Welcome Desk is Service Center within the Euraxess France network.

For logistical support and assistance with administrative steps relative to your stay at the UPPA, please register via the Euraxess portal, here .

PhD students with doctoral contracts, post-docs and researchers who are employed by the UPPA should ask the host professor or laboratory manager to contact the HR department to obtain a hosting agreement convention d'accueil pour chercheur étranger (hors UE).

Visiting PhD students and researchers whose stay is financed by an entity other than the UPPA (CIFRE contract, salary from their home university or other employer) should contact the International Welcome Desk to find out if they qualify for a hosting agreement given their particular situation.
