Two agreements signed during the last meeting of the Governance Board at Timisoara

UNITA   01 of june of 2022

On the 1st of June 2022, the rectors of the 6 universities have made a great step forward concerning the research activities within UNITA Alliance, by signing two agreements: one about the creation of a network of shared research infrastructures, and the other one about a PhD co-tutelles protocol.

Besides allowing the mobilities of the students and the staff, a European University implies the sharing of the scientific resources (equipments, platform, collections, etc.). In order to enhance a common use of these resources and support the research activities within UNITA, the creation of shared infrastructures network has been decided.

To formalize this decision, an official agreement has been signed in Timisoara by all the rectors, indicating the conditions and procedures to be followed. It should simplify and make easier the pooling of the various tools available at the different universities of the Alliance. In September 2022, an online database will be provided to access all these resources.

During the same meeting, a joint protocol has been signed concerning UNITA PhD co-tutelles: it details precisely the rules that govern the supervision of a PhD student by two directors belonging to different universities of the Alliance. Undoubtedly, this protocol should increase the number of co-tutelles and facilitate their implementation! In order to establish and monitor all the activities related to the PhD, a network composed of all the Doctoral Schools’ directors will be created and activated in the coming months.
