Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara(UVT) recently hosted UNITA Days, an event which brought together representatives of the other five founding universities of the Alliance: Università degli Studi di Torino, Universidade Beira Interior, Universidad Zaragoza, Université Savoie Mont-Blanc and Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour. UNITA Days is an event which happens regularly in each of the partner universities and aims to open the direct dialogue with students, academia and staff members regarding the vast variety of opportunities these actors can seize within the alliance.
During three days, between the 20th and 22nd of March, the main campus of UVT was populated with the booths of the partner universities, each with two representatives which were there to answer questions and share information, but also with an infodesk which guided the curious students to the universities they were most interested in.
Ongoing calls such as Rural Mobility 2023 or Green Mobilities Ideathon and Hackathon, how to join the UNITA Students’ Assembly, internship offers and general information about each of our partners’ countries, cities and cultures were only a few of the discussed topics during the university fair which was visited by the majority of UVT’s students.
During the three intense days various presentations with different purposes were held:
- a Mobility Café which was held in the first day of the event gathered almost 100 curious students who wanted to know more about the partner universities either because they are already enrolled in a mobility call or because they arewilling to do so in the near future; The introductory part served as a mobility guidebook in their home university followed by representatives of the UNITA universities who thoroughly presented their study offers and campuses.
- A Students Assembly recruitment campaign which was destined to introduce the students to the Students Assembly ordinary and extraordinary activities but also on how to become an active member of the organization; During the UNITA Days and fairs UNITA Students’ Assembly aims at gaining more popularity and attract more active members who can benefit from the advantages of being part of a vibrant, multicultural and very fun community!
- UNITA Meet&Greet at UVT was the first time within this type of event when the academia, the researchers and the administrative staff had the opportunity to meet(and greet) their colleagues face to face. During this presentation UVT’s community had the opportunity to ask questions and get a more detailed view of the partner universities in order to properly choose their next UNITA destination.
Because the sense of belonging and visual identity is important for us, at the end of each presentation a number of 10 UNITA Kits were granted to lucky winners of the day who won the raffle!
It is safe to say that the UNITA Days held at Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara was a great success. It provided the whole community with the chance to learn about the various opportunities available within UNITA, especially in regards to mobilities.
