The Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), as a partner of UNITA through the Geminae network of Universities beyond Europe, actively cooperates in the exchange of good practices and internationalisation with the member universities of our Alliance.

After a previous visit to the Università di Torino, Carol Stroppa, Carlos Cunha and Ludmila Martins, administrative staff at UFV, visited the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR) to exchange procedures between the partner universities.

Following a welcome at the UNITA Office of UNIZAR, on Wednesday 24 April Ludmila Martins was introduced to our ranking and quality system by the General Inspection of Services, while Carlos Cunha and Carol Stroppa had a first approach to the structure and life-cycle of our Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees at the Academic Planning Service.

Ludmila continued to address quality issues on Thursday 25 at the Vice-Rectorate for Planning, Sustainability and Infrastructure, while Carlos and Carol discussed mobility possibilities with UNIZAR at the International Relations Section.

They further worked on this matter on Friday 26 when they visited the International Relations Office of the Faculty of Sciences, where they examined the possibility of creating agreements in this area of knowledge. On the same day, they also got to know the structure and offer of the Doctoral School.

On Monday 29 April, they visited the Faculty of Economics, where they were received by the dean Ana Yetano, an active collaborator of UNITA as co-leader of the group working on internationalisation with Geminae universities. In this faculty they also explored possible ways of collaboration and exchange in areas of economics between UFV and UNIZAR.

On 30 April, there was a general working session at the UNITA Office, where both teams analysed together the possibility of integrating Geminae universities into programmes offered by the UNITA Alliance, such as Virtual Mobility, BIPs, Rural Mobility, or micro-credentials and they were later received in the Paraninfo building by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Cooperation, Francisco Beltrán.
